A quick but exciting update!

Well, unlike the Bruins, who crushed my soul losing in 7 games to the Panthers, and Arsenal, who, while overperforming incredibly... still crushed my soul with their 2nd place finish. Or the Red Sox, who are completely uninspirational, and the Patriots, who will likely suck ... again. Or the Celtics, who picked the last scraps of hope this Boston sports fan had and magnificently flushed it down the toilet with a no-show game seven performance...

I'm Closing May with a BANG!

I just had my end of Round 2 induction therapy meeting with my oncologist, and to say the results are exciting would be the inverse equivalent of the Celtic's game seven showing.

As was explained to me at the start of my induction therapy, key cell counts need to see a 90% reduction before we can even start to discuss phase 2 of the treatment of Multiple Myeloma (bone marrow transplant).

I pride myself in being an anal-retentive-overachiever and am thrilled to report that after just two rounds, I have hit the 90% target! The science of induction therapy requires a minimum of four rounds of therapy to make sure things stay contained and stable over a longer period of time, so today, May 30, I begin round 3 with the expectation of just more round after this! (Thus, the title of the post). See the amazing trends below! :)

So what will happen next? I will have a bone marrow transplant clinic review where the entire process will be outlined, and timelines and scheduling will begin. There are a battery of tests that happen before the harvesting of my stem cells (bone marrow biopsy #2 - boo, PET CT, round 2, blood work, etc.). Then after they complete processing, I move to the actual transplant and subsequent monitoring that happens.

More to come as I continue to progress, but I felt it was important to share the exciting outcome and, most importantly, to say "THANK YOU" to all my friends and family, who have been amazing every step of the way. Your support, check-ins, and encouragement mean the world to me.

Onward, Forward, and Upward (except for those cell counts)!

More to come!
